installation methods for SOFT SOUND® Corner Trap studio foams
| adhesive mounting |
|---|
| Corner Traps are typically installed within a corner of a room. Adhesive mounting is ideally suited for permanent installations requiring speed and ease of application. This type of installation requires little to no layout time, depending on various field conditions. When installed properly, adhesive mounting forms a strong bond between the corner unit and wall. These instructions were created for a corner trap with a height of 48 inches and intended to serve as a guide. These instructions also apply to our Class A Corner Trap. Install corner traps with a 24 inch height in a similar manner. The responsibility for recognizing and compensating for field conditions lies with the installer. |

Note: Corner Traps can also be free standing in the corner. 1) Wall surface should be clean and free of any surface obstructions. 2) Using a level, lay out where the corner trap will be installed. Lightly draw reference lines with a pencil as needed (figure A). 3) Confirm measurements before installing. If necessary, make all field cuts before installing. See our field cutting instructions. 4) Lay the foam corner trap, textured side down, on a clean, smooth surface. Apply a 3/8 inch line of adhesive around the perimeter of the back of the corner trap, 2 inches from outer edge. Apply a few dots of adhesive where necessary. (figure B) 5) Using the reference lines as a guide, gently press the corner trap against the wall. Hold the corner trap in position for a few moments while the adhesive sets. (figure C) |
